Usakhelouri, Khareba, 2011

This wine, as is well-known, is made from Usakhelouri—the rarest and most valuable variety of Georgian grape—grown in the village of Okhureshi in the north-western Georgian region of Lechkhumi. A sour-cherry-red wine with aromas characteristic of this variety of grape, initially dominated by strawberry jam followed by powerful notes of raspberry jam. A very soft flavour, with tender tannins and a long finish. Serve chilled.
