Georgia Accuses Two Israeli Companies of Georgian Wine Adulteration

The Georgian government has accused two Israeli companies – Capital Food Company and International Company for Alcohol – of the adulteration of Georgian wine.

The trial was due to be held in January 2009; however, due to the hostilities in Israel, the trial was postponed until the end of March. The Georgian party, in particular, accused the two companies of the adulteration of Tsinandali and Kindzmarauli wines.
In 2008, Georgia won a similar case against Vladimir Distillers Company, a Bulgarian company, and the company was banned by Bulgarian authorities to bottle Georgian wines.
