Mtsvane, the Antadze family’s Wine Cellar, 2011

Charming first aromas and unbelievably soft and effective. This amber-coloured wine was made in qvevri according to the traditional Kakhetian method from Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli (25%) grapes grown in the Manavi micro-zone, and was left in contact with the grape marc for up to six months. The flavour of jujube at first, followed by the warm and soft flavour of raisins as well as the aroma of roasted pumpkin seeds and sweet spices. Quite a long but rough finish. In a word, this is an exotic wine which enlarges the notion of traditional Kakhetian qvevri wine.
