Tsolikouri, Khareba, 2011

This is the second year that the Khareba Winery compensates for the relative lack of Imeretian wine with its table and premium wines. This straw-coloured Tsolikouri is briskly acidic, and has notes of fruit flowers, Japanese medlar (loquat), early pear and lemon. A very pleasant flavour, leaving an impression of freshness and completeness. Serve well chilled with Imeretian dishes such as pkhali (beetroot and spinach lives with ground walnuts), green beans with walnuts, cold poultry salads or chicken in a white wine sauce.
