Shumi, Shumi, 2011

This is Shumi’s showcase wine, made from 75% Saperavi and 25% Cabernet sauvignon grapes grown in the Napareuli micro-zone. Locals call the area where the vineyard is to be found “Didkure”. At first, this young, violet-coloured wine has very sharp aromas of blackberries, followed by red pepper and elderflower. This is a strong, new wine with a long finish which would go well with juicy skewered meat or fresh sausages.
