Saperavi from Tsarapi, Nika Wines, 2011

A raspberry-red wine with a violet halo made from Saperavi grapes grown in the Kardenakhi (Tsarapi) micro-zone. This wine is quite soft and ripe, considering its youth. Full-bodied and full-flavoured. Strong initial aromas of raspberry, later followed by herbal notes such as dried basil. This wine would make an excellent accompaniment to beef steaks.
