Chelti continue to produce their series of pink wines. Their first Saperavi rosé was a 2010 vintage, and—like its predecessor—this wine’s colour is subtly different from the classic pink. This rosé is more of a ruby-red colour, and unlike other Georgian pink wines is more straightforward, full-bodied and ‘manly’. Made from Saperavi grapes grown in Shilda. Very powerful aromas dominated by notes of berries (e.g. over-ripe raspberries and blackberries). The wine’s flavour underlines its strength, and is marked by notes of crushed berries. An interesting and long finish.
