Saperavi, Jakelebi, 2010

Still looks young in terms of colour, which could be described as cornelian-cherry and raspberry-red. Powerful first aromas blend notes of berries and overcooked sour cherries. When tasting, notes of vegetation come to the fore, viz. strong aromas of rosemary and juniper as well as conifers. This is quite a strong wine (14%) with overwhelming tannins and a long finish. It should be served as an accompaniment to beef steaks, and will ‘peak’ in a few years’ time.
