Mtsvane, Pheasant's Tears, 2010

This is the second year that Pheasant's Tears have produced qvevri wine from Kakhuri mtsvane grapes, and I think this year's wine is more variable in quality than that of 2009. The smell of vegetation – thyme, for example – was noticeable in 2009, but in 2010 this has been replaced by fruitier tones, including dried apricot and honey.
