Mtsvane, Monastery Wines, Khareba, 2010

This qvevri wine was made from the Mtsvane kakhuri variety of grape. Amber-coloured with a very pleasant initial bouquet of Georgian spices such as fenugreek, French marigold and mountain thyme. Quite a lively Kakhetian wine, despite being strong and full-bodied. A delicious young wine with a relatively long finish which will soften and become more refined over time.
