Tvishi, Kakhetian Traditional Wine-making, 2011

Georgia’s only white semi-sweet appellation wine. This wine was made in Lechkhumi from Tsolikouri grapes grown in the Tvishi micro-zone. Like all good Tvishi wines, this one is distinguished by its perfect balance of sweetness and acidity—a balance which makes it an excellent summer wine. Notes of Japanese medlar (loquat) and early apples, and a sweet-smelling finish. Would go well with early fruit, cherries, plums, strawberries, melon or pear, as well as with fruit soufflés and fruit cakes.
