Napareuli, Tbilvino, 2011

This appellation wine is very rarely produced nowadays, and Tbilvino are an exception. This is a new, cornelian-cherry-red wine whose bouquet at first combines the aroma of berries with notes of oak, followed by hints of bilberry jam, dried herbs such as thyme, and ripe, red sour plums. Pleasantly acidic, it would go well with chakhokhbili (chicken stew), meat stews with tomato sauce, or chanakhi (lamb stew with aubergines).
