Mtsvane, made by monks in the Alaverdi Monastery’s wine cellar, 2011

A traditional amber-coloured qvevri wine made from Mtsvane grapes grown in the Akhmeta micro-zone. Very pleasant first aromas with strong hints of exotic vegetation, meadow flowers and sunflowers. This is quite a strong wine (14%) with an unforgettable finish. Still quite straightforward but will become more refined over time.
