Kisi, made by monks in the Alaverdi Monastery’s wine cellar, 2011

An amber-coloured wine with the direct and sharp bouquet characteristic of Kisi grapes, which features notes of walnuts, saffron and Georgian spices. This wine is highly acidic with strong tannins and a long finish. A full-bodied wine which would best be served to accompany dishes ranging from aubergines or cabbage with nuts to kharcho (meat stew with walnuts).
