Rkatsiteli ‘Qvevri’, Glekhuri, 2011

Made from Rkatsiteli grapes grown in vineyards near the Alaverdi Monastery in the Alazani Valley. This first aromas of this amber-yellow wine feature a wide spectrum of sweet spices, reminiscent of panettone. The wine’s aromas take quite a long time to develop, and the wine has a long finish. It would go well with a wide range of dishes with walnuts—e.g. aubergines with walnut paste, or kharcho (Georgian meat stew with walnuts).
